The Association says alcohol-related accidents are on the decline

Botswana Alcohol Industry Association (BAIA) says that traffic offences related to drunk driving are on the decline. A statement from the lobby group noted that recent statistics from the Botswana Police traffic department showed that drunk-driving offences amounted to only 1.5 percent of the traffic offences during the recent 2016 President Day holidays.

Major traffic offences continue to be speeding, which has been leading for decades, and other offences,” said the association’s spokesperson, Jacob Sesinyi.
