Alcohol levy collects P1.16bn

The alcohol levy has collected a cumulative total of P1.16 billion as of July this year, President Ian Khama announced yesterday.


This has been one measure that the government adopted to combat harmful effects of alcohol in the society, which are in line with the World Health Organisation guidelines. The president said that the levy has contributed to reduction in alcohol consumption in the country.
