Accused claims ancestors stopped him from attending court

Bachaile Sekoto is charged with one count of office break-in and one count of theft. He allegedly committed the offences in 2012 in Francistown.
Praying to the magistrate not to imprison him for failure to appear in court when needed, Sekoto said he could have been dead if he had not ‘answered’ his ancestors’ call. He said that he went to Tutume Police Station to explain his predicament last week whereupon he was arrested. He said he has always cooperated well with the police and was wondering why the police had applied for his warrant of arrest.
