Accident victim succumbs to injuries

A 34-year-old woman who sustained injuries following a Saturday early morning accident succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Sidilega Private Hospital hours later.

The accident occurred around 1:15am nearby the Molapo Crossing traffic lights intersection. She was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to the injuries at around 7:00am.

Deputy divisional traffic officer for South Central, senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho revealed that the collision involved a VW Polo vehicle that was driven by a 40-year-old man who was alone in the vehicle, while the VW Golf driven by a 32-year-old woman, had the female passenger that later died on board. The drivers of both cars are said to be in a stable condition at Sidilega Private Hospital.

“The VW Golf vehicle was turning to the right whilst the other car was on the straight. Investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish who was at fault,” Mojalemotho said.
