Local musical sensation, Ezra Neethings, is set to redefine the live music experience in Botswana as he prepares to stage a one-man live concert on April 18 at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Arena.

Speaking during a media briefing on Tuesday, the Merwalela hitmaker disclosed that his show is dubbed Big Things You Go Do In My Life.

He revealed that the one-man show has been his dream for a while, but he kept it under wraps until he felt it was ripe and would break the norm of one-man shows in Botswana.

“This is something I’ve dreamed about for the longest time. I almost launched it in 2022, but it didn’t work out and became a mess. That experience changed me and made me realise that God’s timing is always the best,” Ezra said.

On the eve of the anticipated show, Ezra Neethings said what truly sets this show apart is its bold concept of no inclusion of supporting acts, no opening performers, and no shared stage. For the entire night, the spotlight will solely be on him and his live band, an uncommon trend in the local scene.

Ezra Neethings emphasised the importance of live performances in deepening the connection between artists and their audiences, explaining that musicians should challenge themselves beyond recorded tracks.

He highlighted that he intends to break the trend and create a niche in live performances.

“Almost all musicians should be able to perform a live show as it allows for real interaction with the audience, which isn’t limited to the time slot of a song,” he noted.

He further encouraged fellow artists to explore live shows, explaining that they help both performers and fans develop a deeper appreciation for the art of music.

Ezra Neethings also confirmed that tickets will be available through his team and official website, adding that the concert will be open to all age groups. “My lyrics are age-friendly, so there will be no age restriction,” he said.

The one-man concert show marks a new chapter for Ezra Neethings, who continues to evolve his sound while pushing creative boundaries within Botswana's entertainment industry. His hit, Merwalela, has been trending, hitting over a million streams on music streaming platforms.
