Yvonne Chaka Chaka will headline the kwaito dominated Oldies series for the first time

Waars Was Jy is commonly known for hosting classic kwaito festivals but on August 3 one of the first South African artists to break on the international scene, Yvonne Chaka Chaka will headline the Oldies Series at Botswana Craft.

The festival organiser Lecco who is signed under Arthur Mafokate’s 999 records told Arts & Culture that although the event has been synonymous with kwaito music festivals it's is not all about kwaito.

“We want to bring back old memories and appreciate old genres, so it is only that we kick-started the series with kwaito this year with Trompies,” he said.
