Waone Tladi (20) of Gabane was this past weekend crowned Miss Independence Kgatleng (MIK) at an event held at Rasesa Lodge. Post coronation, Tladi revealed that MIK has been her biggest breakthrough because she has gained experience and confidence in her walking, presentation and public speaking skills.

“It was a rollercoaster ride because there was a point I tripped and almost lost faith but I tried my best to keep composure until the very end. The pageant’s aim is to go national and indeed this year we made sure we open the entry to each and every Motswana, not just Kgatleng natives,” explained pageant director Lebopo Bulayani.

She could not stop talking about her gratitude at the Kgatleng leaders, being the police, office of the district commissioner and council chairperson who graced the event and keep supporting this youth development organisation every year.
