The 80’s and 90’s fashion came out to play as revellers came wearing bright and bold colours . They pulled-off preppy, rock, casual chic and punk fashion. Both men and women wore huge Afro hairstyles and coloured wigs. Some even did puffed- up hairstyles and wore colourful lipsticks and applied bright blushes on the cheeks. It was interesting to see some ladies wearing swim suits on top of coloured tights and slouch socks pulled to ankles. Others wore spandex mini skirts, and flashy and bling tops along with jackets.
The men wore beanies, caps, sneakers especially Converse, hoods, leather pants and leggings, fur fux coats, skinny jeans, pants and puffed up jackets with the huge Aviation sunglasses like Sylvester Stallone aka Rambo. Some men’s style of fashion was influenced by artists like Michael Jackson while others wore like those of Pimps with colourful blazers, shirts and pants.
As such, we are now one step away from the shame of being labelled amongst the world’s worst offenders. This is a national embarrassment that demands an immediate, united response from every corner of our society.
