Botswana's songbird, Slizer (Naledi Kaisara) will be the headline act at this year's Blantyre Arts Festival in Malawi this weekend. The three-day show will be staged at Blantyre Cultural Centre (BCC) from Friday. Slizer is overjoyed by prospects of performing in Malawi and the music and arts annual event for the first time. She is convinced the appearance will unlock international doors for her.

"I am really excited about this because they have actually made me the headline act and obviously a lot is expected from me. I am ready to do my best and make sure I live to expectations. I also see this as an opportunity to market my music and sell my country to the world because I am told there will be representatives from the American Embassy," Slizer told Showbiz.

She leaves for Blantyre on Friday for the event together with her dancers though she will only take to the stage on the final day. This will be her second public performance since the birth of her son.  The first was in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe last month to celebrate Tourism Day.
