Miss Hope Botswana pageants director, Sera Madiba, said Miss Golden Heart was a newly created pageant award for Sera Madiba Golden Heart Trust.

She explained that it was scooped by the outstanding contestant from all categories and therefore was won by Segaetsho. “I was inspired to host this pageant all these years by the drill to equip young Batswana with life skills and exposure to international competitions. It also aims to broaden young Batswana mindset to the modern life skills (communication skills, public speaking skills, presentation skills, interview skills, survival skills and so on). We target young ladies aging from three to 37 years of age. This year we had 20 contestants enrolled,” she explained.

Furthermore, Madiba pointed out that when choosing their finalists, they scouted them across Botswana physically and online. She added that their selection was based on contestants’ personality strengths and weaknesses. Hope Pageants have been running for eight years in Botswana and more than 10 years internationally. She also said the queens won themselves different scholarships depending on their age and level of education such as tertiary at Gaborone Institute of Professional studies (GIPS) for those who qualify for them, tuitions for secondary and primal educational levels, several gifts, trophies, medals, certificates, trip to Goo-Moremi, beauty spa treats and international costs coverage. She added that their sponsors were GIPS, Adansonia Hotel, Phatsima Tuitions and Artron Enterprise's. She said GIPS and Adansonia were their consistent mother sponsors. Moreover, other contestants who scooped other awards include Anitah Moiya who won first runner up for Miss Hope category, Public Speaking, Best Interview and Best Initiative awards. Segaetsho also won Overall Project and Popularity awards. Community Service award was won by Mbali Kelipile while Gorata Segadimo and Kaone Moreri won Talent and Creativity awards respectively.
