Sereetsi Serenates IWG Cultural Night

Organisers of the just ended International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) world conference on Friday spiced up the three-day event with a cultural night. The cultural night was held at the National Stadium with African attire as the key dress code.

Various dignitaries amongst them ministers, IWG board members, artists and other members of society graced the event. Despite the chilly weather, people came in numbers in appreciation for this year’s conference and the work that has been achieved by the IWG over the years.

Speaking at the event, board member and executive director, Matilda Mwaba highlighted the significance of hosting the IWG conference in Botswana saying it was important for Africa as a whole. She said the conference remains a landmark in Botswana’s calendar, saying that sustenance of the actions taken by the IWG requires leadership and resources.
