Ten local visual artists will use their art to explore endurance, identity and hope when an exhibition inspired by Ukraine’s experience of war opens at the Thapong Visual Arts Centre next week.

Titled Resilience: The Unbreakable Human Spirit, the multidisciplinary exhibition is being presented by the Embassy of Ukraine in Botswana and curated by Thabo Kgatlwane, in partnership with TSW.

The exhibition, which runs from September 1-13, brings together three visual artists, two sculptors, three photographers and two fashion designers. Through their different disciplines, the artists have been challenged to interpret resilience from their own perspectives while responding to Ukraine’s story of endurance amid war.
