Local gospel singer, Gaone Selebo has brought home an international award, after being awarded the Best Radio Announcer of the Year during the Gospel Choice Music Awards in the USA.

Selebo was nominated for three categories, namely: Best Gospel Promoter, Best Radio Announcer of the year and Virtual Talk Show. However, she managed to win an Award for Best Radio Announcer of the year. She said that it was only by the grace of God that she won amongst the veterans and heavy weights of radio. Selebo said she is still waiting for the Award to arrive from the USA because she did not manage to attend the occasion in person. Furthermore, she announced that she had also been nominated for the Women in Worship Awards in the UK for Best Discovery Female Artist.

She explained that it is just an honorary award as there was no public voting. “I will be honoured in the UK as one of the women who are doing well in Gospel music in Botswana. These achievements mean a great milestone and are opening international doors for me. The main Awards will be on August 23, 2025 in London. I am very excited and I give glory to God,” she said. Selebo hails from Shoshong but is based in Gaborone. She said she started singing at an early age of 10 but professionally joined the music industry in 2012.
