Rail Park Mall Turns Four

Consumers at one of the capital’s premier shopping centres, Rail Park Mall, were treated to fitting entertainment as the mall celebrated its fourth year with a Customer Day Carnival last weekend.

The event was packed with activities for the entire family as the festival started in the morning. These included a parade through the shopping mall with jugglers, acrobats and drum majorettes.

Various games and competitions took place on the day. Games included the amazing race, trolley trash, face painting and clowns who entertained shoppers.

The event organiser, Kgomotso Molefe told The Monitor that they decided to celebrate the mall’s birthday with a carnival, as a way of appreciating their customers in a fun and inclusive way.

“Rail Park is a very celebrated mall that has been strategically positioned as people come here more often because we are the mall that is best suitable for them.  “We also have amazing tenants who have a lot to offer their customers,” said Molefe.

In addition, Johnson Gotsilewame said that he came up with this carnival concept as he wanted to bring something attractive yet fun.

“I came up with a concept that can attract people in such a way that it is fun and interactive.  I also brought guides, mapantsola, basketball, ballroom dance, all this brings together something vibey and attractive,” said Gotsilewame.

The eight-hectare Rail Park Mall opened its doors to the public four years ago and currently has 100 percent occupancy rate with about 70 tenants in the shopping centre.
