Organisers beef up security at Spring Xplosion

More than 400 security personnel, including 60 police officers, 120 bouncers and 220 security guards, will guard attendees. The security guards will be armed with shockers, teaser guns, metal detectors and shamboks.
DJ Kuchi said security had to be beefed up because of the previous Summer Xplosion, which was held at the same venue. “We have learned a lot from the previous at Fairgrounds, some strong points and others to improve on,” he said. “The station commander also briefed our security teams about the venue and the area.” Revellers have also been advised to park their vehicles inside the venue.
For too long, the state of many public schools has been a source of shame. We have all seen the pictures and heard the stories of broken windows, unreliable water and electricity, topped by classrooms that are not fit for proper learning. The establishment of the Education Infrastructure and Management Company Ltd (EIMC) signals that authorities are finally ready to take this problem seriously. We must commend the government for this initiative....
