Reigning Miss Botswana Queen, Lesego Chombo, will next week launch a foundation dubbed, Lesego Chombo Foundation.

Chombo, who is two weeks away from representing Botswana at the world stage in India, will launch her foundation on February 8 in Gaborone. Through the foundation, the reigning Miss Botswana aims to make significant impact by uplifting the lives of poverty-stricken and rural communities through innovative and impactful charitable projects.

According to a statement released this morning, her 'Beauty With A Purpose' project, titled the Genesis Project, will be the flagship initiative of the Lesego Chombo Foundation, which will host a variety of projects even beyond her reign. “The goal of this project is to provide parents from disadvantaged backgrounds with the necessary skills and character traits to raise their children in loving surroundings. It also exposes kids to a developmental programme that supports their growth on the emotional, mental, social, and cognitive levels. The Genesis Project is a shining example of #MindsetChangeBW,” reads the statement in part.

“We believe that by coming together as a community, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of people. The Lesego Chombo Foundation is not just an organisation, it's a movement towards positive change," remarked Chombo. The launch gala dinner will be held at the exquisite Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino. Tables, each accommodating 10 people, are priced at P10,000, and individual seats are available for P1 000. Furthermore, the evening will feature an auction with a variety of items to raise additional funds for the Lesego Chombo Foundation's projects.
