Local, international acts clash at Morobosi

South African Heavy K
South African Heavy K

The fourth annual Morobosi event was a two-day non-stop party attracting hordes of people at Tswapong hills. The event held near GooTau and Manaledi villages even attracted a sizeable following from outside the country.

The show that came to a close without any controversy started off with a bit of drama on New Year’s Eve. South Africa’s Heavy K nearly ruined the night when he demanded to play before his scheduled time slot.  His order caused a commotion as DJ Chrispin was still playing at the time.  Chrispin refused to vacate the stage. “Just because he is from South Africa does not give him the right to boss us around,” Chrispin said. The young drummer did not disappoint as he turned up the gear on his digitally sophisticated drums.  The song that had many dancing was his latest single Fire In The Mountain that is currently topping local music charts. Chrispin relinquished the stage to the SA DJ shortly after midnight.  Finally Heavy K took over but his best was not nearly as entertaining to the crowd as Chrispin’s act.

Many were still disappointed following his earlier behaviour towards Chrispin.
