Local Fashion Industry Growing In Leaps And Bounds

The fashion industry in Botswana is growing greater by the day with new and yet profound expeditions emerging with each passing moment. Different stakeholders are coming together to encourage indigenous fashion designers and the organisers of the Modern Tswana Fashion week are no exception.

Modern Tswana Fashion Week is a fashion house bringing the indigenous culture and fitting it into modern lifestyle. This year they hosted their third Fashion Night out event, which took place over the weekend at Planet Lodge. Founder and chief organiser, James Chikumo explained to Showtime how their aim is to take the roots of the nation and sync them with modern lifestyle.

“Our aim is to showcase raw talent in our beautiful land and we feel like making it a once off event is not enough,” Chikumo said.
