Lesego Chombo, the reigning Miss World Botswana, is set to represent Botswana on the global stage at the 71st Miss World pageant in India. In a statement issued by Miss Botswana organisation, it was announced that Chombo will be leaving for India on the 17th of February for the Miss World competition.

'Miss Chombo will leave Botswana this Saturday where she will join the rest of miss world queens, from February 18th to march 9th 2024, with the grand finale set to be held at the jio world center in Mumbai," reads the statement. The Miss Botswana statement also says Chombo has been preparing to represent Botswana. "Chombo has been diligently preparing to showcase the beauty, grace and intelligence that characterize Botswana's finest representatives," says the statement. The statement emphasised that Miss World is not merely a competition for physical beauty, but also an opportunity for contestants to advocate for meaningful causes. It further reads, "Miss world pageant platform is not just a competition for beauty, but also an opportunity for contestants to promote positive change in their communities and beyond." Miss Botswana statement highlighted. "Chombo has shown this spirit through her dedication to various philanthropic endeavors."
