Those who belong to the generation that dominated the dance floor before the turn of the millennium would recall the long months they had to endure before their favourite artist released a song. However, that has changed now as artists flood the market with new products almost every other day. But what is behind the recording frenzy, asks Mmegi Staffer, MQONDISI DUBE

The period leading to the festive season was much anticipated as music followers kept their ears glued to the airwaves for the latest hits.

And artists rarely disappointed as anytime from August was a merry-making period with new releases flooding the market. Some flopped; others did just fine while yet more stood out as the festive season hits.
