The annual event Home Coming Concert (HCC) Appreciation Party hosted by Monate Fela flopped this past Saturday as few patrons attended the event.

The festival held at Bee 6 Club in Mochudi was headed for a disaster from the beginning as it shared a date with the funeral of Bakgatla Queen Mother Kathleen Kgafela who was buried in Mochudi that morning.

The event organiser, DJ Easy B told the media last week that they could not afford to postpone or cancel the event despite the tragedy that had befallen Bakgatla. Although he long announced the festival date before the passing of the Bakgatla queen mother, DJ Easy B revealed that he did not think his event would affect the funeral. Meanwhile, the rain which started faling in Mochudi that morning also dampened the mood especially that the event was held on the outdoor of Bee 6 club.
