While they coincidentally share a date with the funeral of Bakgatla Queen Mother, Kathleen Kgafela who passed away a week ago, organisers of Home Coming Concert (HCC) Appreciation Party have vowed to respect Bakgatla as they host their festival this coming Saturday at Bee 6 in Mochudi.

Speaking during a media brief on Friday, the event organiser, DJ Easy B said they announced the festival before the tragedy of the Bakgatla queen mother therefore at the moment they are unable to postpone or cancel the event.

Instead, he said what they will do is that they will attend the funeral and only start the festival after. “I don’t think we will do anything that will disturb the funeral arrangements. This event can never start before the funeral is over,” he highlighted. Asked if he had talked to Bakgatla royals about hosting the concert on the day, DJ Easy B said theirs is a business therefore dikgosi can never be involved in any way in the matter.
