GIMC sets stage for week of festivities

Gaborone is gearing up for the Gaborone International Music and Culture Week (GIMC), a multi-disciplinary celebration that brings together music, fitness, poetry, comedy and more.

The event kicks off tomorrow, with GIMC Fitness at the GICC Marquee, followed by the GIMC jazz festival at Bojanala Waterfront on Saturday. Headlining the jazz showcase is legendary American R&B singer Karyn White, who will perform in Botswana for the first time.

White, who arrived earlier this week, has been enjoying her time in Botswana and she is keen to make her debut performance a memorable one. She has also invited local fans to help shape her set by sharing the songs from her catalogue they would most like to hear.
