It is a gamble that paid off well as the local Afro Tech female DJs thrilled at the GIMC Afro Tech 6.0 event held on Saturday in Game City Rooftop marquee.

This was the sixth edition of the GIMC Afro Tech series and ultra feminine edition with all local female DJs line up. The organisers had said the move was to celebrate the International Women’s Day that came in earlier March and also to celebrate the prowess of the skilled female DJs. The elite Afro House styled event has previously housed some of the household names in the genre. The list includes award winning DJs and producers like Eno Napa, Culoe de Song, Sun El Musician and Da Capo. On Saturday evening, in front of a fair crowd, Mis J was to first to hump on the stage just after the sunset.

She set the tone going as the revellers began to arrive in increased numbers. DJ Missy followed suit and kept the mood with the signs of a good night showing for the hundreds in the Game City Rooftop marquee. Nendiyo’s 3-step flooded set was among the highlights. She played a mixture of the recent 3-step sub genre releases while also her set included the mixes of some popular vocals from the yesteryears. DJ Rudo was next with an ancestral like set as the event line-up proved to vary the different dj’ing styles, a thrill for the revellers on the night. It was a surreal mood as with Osaka Sun and Bo Kettle jumping on the stage soon after. The latter was making a return on the GIMC Afro Tech stage and proved her worth. DJ Kele was also a highlight on the night but her set was soul infused serving yet another dish to the revellers on the night. Despite a fair attendance, the VIP section was full with revelers as proof that they had their money’s worth on the night.
