The 2010 young-adult dystopian science fiction novel is the second book in the Maze Runner Saga.
It is preceded by The Maze Runner, and followed by The Death Cure, The Kill Order, and finally The Fever Code. In this thriller, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow gladers face their greatest challenge yet as they search for clues about the mysterious and powerful organisation known as WCKD. The teenagers’ journey takes them to the Scotch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the gliders take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and also face a mammoth task of surviving the flare. This blockbuster continues the legacy in Built Last Summer, as the entire cast have reprised their roles among others TV series star, star Dylan O’Brien still plays the inquisitive rebellion teenager Thomas. Director Wee Ball carries on where he left off with the first Maze Runner.
It is not uncommon in this part of the world for parents to actually punish their children when they show signs of depression associating it with issues of indiscipline, and as a result, the poor child will be lashed or given some kind of punishment.
