Tebogo ‘Euri’ Motsie has justified his Yarona Music Awards (YAMA) Social Media nomination with the release of his maiden Internet single Boloi pulled off his online mixtape Mark XIII.

The rapper had earlier promised his fans that once his official Facebook page hits 5,000 likes he would upload a single for free downloading. At the weekend, the page had already hit 5,334 likes while Boloi had been downloaded 4,000 times.

Euri, who had a double celebration over the weekend – his birthday and the nomination - explained, “Boloi is an internet single.  There is new media.  Social media is getting to a point where any musician can use it as a form of outreach.  It’s an alternative for radio and newspaper. It makes sense for us to start having singles specifically for the Internet.”
