Deadpool overpowers villains

Deadpool is a 2016 American superhero film and it is the eighth installment in the X-men series. Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. The film is also star-studded and enticing, even on paper as it boasts of action super stars like Ryan Reynolds from big films like Safe House, Selfless (2012,2014) and Game of Thrones, The Transporter: Refueled (2015). The stars give it that magnetic power to which enables it to drag enthusiasts to cinema to catch a feel of their mutant abilities. Ironically the same cannot be said about the director Tim Miller who was making his directorial debut. Funny enough even film credits when Deadpool starts is quoted as “directed by an overpaid tool”. That should not be taken lightly as is a warning shot to Deadpool’s rude sense of humour and R-rating.
When claims of such gravity are made, especially by a sitting Assistant Minister they cannot be brushed aside, delayed, or treated as routine political noise. Even the Ombudsman has confirmed receipt of a report from a political party and a review of these complaints is now underway. That is a necessary first step. But it is only the beginning. The seriousness of the allegations demands urgency, transparency and clarity. The public is entitled to...
