Gaothuse will pass on the crown to the new queen

The Miss Botswana 2025 Grand Finale is set to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at the prestigious Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).

To be hosted under the theme; African Elegance, this year’s pageant promises to be a spectacle as the nation crowns its next queen to succeed Anicia Gaothuse. Miss Botswana has been under intense public scrutiny following the withdrawal of two Top 10 finalists two weeks before the grand finale. Both finalists stated personal reasons for their withdrawal, however, social media is not having it. Despite this backlash, the Miss Botswana organisation has assured the public that the show will go on, maintaining its commitment to delivering a grand spectacle.

Reigning queen, Gaothuse, will take her final walk and pass on the coveted crown to her successor. Gaothuse, who has had an impactful reign, is also preparing to represent Botswana at the upcoming Miss World competition, adding an extra layer of prestige to this year’s event. On a more positive note the appointment of former titleholder, Lesego Chombo as a Minister of Youth and Gender has brought some positive light to the organisation. Chombo made history by placing in the Top 4 at the 2024 Miss World competition and later earning the title of Miss Africa. This has brought a fresh and dynamic approach to the pageant, that beauty pageants can also produce national leaders. Her leadership has set high expectations for the next queen, as Botswana continues to cement its place on the global stage in the world of beauty pageants. The evening is set to be filled with fashion and entertainment, with performances from Han C and Chokoma. Who will be the fairest of them all? the answer awaits this weekend!
