The annual Bandleng Kiddies festival and family fun day promises to unleash the fun that will make unforgettable memories for families.
It promises to be a blast! “We aim to bring families together in a relaxed atmosphere, coupled with fun, bonding, and laughter,” says Lucky Ranko, promoter of the upcoming Bandleng Kiddies Fest & Family Fun Day. The event, now in its fourth year, will be held in Lobatse, Thamaga, Molepolole, and, for the first time, Oodi Matebeleng. This year’s theme is 'Color Fest', promising a vibrant and exciting day for attendees. Ranko explained that the event is designed to provide a platform for kids to enjoy, relax, and have fun with family and friends. “We want to give kids a moment to unwind and have fun with their loved ones, while also supporting the communities that support us,” he said.
The lineup features Botswana’s decorated artist Han C, alongside Lobatse’s young and vibrant acts, hosted by MC Wame Rakgare & Cyrus. Upcoming artists, dancers, and deejays from local secondary schools will also take the stage, showcasing their talents alongside established acts. “We have been nurturing these young talents for years, and it’s amazing to see them grow and shine,” says Ranko. “With Han C on the lineup, it’s going to be fire on the stage!” The event is not just about entertainment; it is also about giving back to the community.
Over the past four years, the team has supported local schools with prizes, food hampers, and stationery for underprivileged students. This year, they are increasing their support to five schools. Paid activities include quad bikes, target shooting, horse riding, and electric cars. Food, drink, toys, and merchandise stalls will also be available. “We encourage Batswana to come and enjoy a day filled with fun,” says Ranko. “We have individual, team, and family competitions happening on the day, with Debonairs vouchers up for grabs.” But that is not all, they will also be giving a platform to upcoming artists, dancers, and deejays from local secondary schools to showcase their talents. Ranko added that they aim to nurture and support local talent, adding that they were excited to see those young stars shine. He added that it was not just about the music, but their color fest was packed with fun games, activities, and entertainment for kids of all ages! From jumping castles to table games, competitions, and winning vouchers, there is something for everyone. He advised attendees not to forget to try out their paid activities like quad bikes, target shooting, horse riding, and electric cars! They also have stalls available for food, drink, toys, merchandise, and more.
“We are proud to say that our event is not just about fun and games; we are also committed to giving back to the community. Over the past four years, we’ve been supporting local schools with prizes, food hampers, and stationery for underprivileged students. This year, we are increasing our support to five schools! We believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed, and we’re honoured to be a part of their journey,” he said.
