The much anticipated City Lights festival has set its eyes on shaking up this festive season as the organisers promise to bring the event live on the national broadcaster, Botswana Television (Btv).

The event is set to take place at the Royal Aria Stadium on December 31. This move by City Lights organisers is one of its kind and has never been held in Botswana. The live broadcast of an event acts as an aid to those people that suffer from social anxiety and cannot be in crowded places but also at the same time yearn to attend such gigantic events.

So City Lights will provide the opportunity for those kinds of people to witness the ushering of the New Year like they are at the venue. It has since been proven by the neighbouring South Africa that events like these are possible with the famous Come Duze event, which is always held every December 31st on SABC channels.
