In an interview with Showbiz, BOPEU second deputy president for Gender and Youth Affairs, Ogaufi Masame said they decided to bring back the prestigious event after failing to host it last year due to budget constraints. Masame said the event that started back in 2014 was aimed at giving back to the community.
“In the previous two years we were able to raise enough funds through this cultural night event where we were able to sponsor two people who needed kidney replacements. We are proud because through this initiative those kidney patients have regained their health.
