While December is synonymous with grand-scale music festivals drawing massive crowds, Bandleng Wao Bitsa (BWOB) is carving its niche by offering an intimate and tailored experience for a smaller audience.

The event is slated for December 28 at Lobatse, Pandor Serenity. Set to redefine how music lovers connect with their favourite artists and each other, this event promises exclusivity. In an interview with Arts&Culture online, Waditso Matong the founder of BWOB stated that it has always been their trademark to set themselves apart from other events. "This is a lifestyle entertainment established to cater for vibrant, classy and financially stable customers based in Lobatse and surrounding areas such as the capital city Gaborone," Matong said. He further stated that they decided to keep the event secluded so that people can bond over drinks and live performances.

"We decided to keep it intimate because it's sort of reunion where friends make new buddies and network," he said. Not only is the event secluded, Matong shared that the event is also focused on citizen empowerment by getting only local acts for the day unlike other events that boost of international acts. "We have kept this event local because we want to support and grow our local acts. It also re-energises the economic activities of Lobatse, supports local businesses through service provision at the event and assist other brands to sell their products," he said. Heading into their ninth year, Matong feels that the intimate experience is what has been keeping BWOB ongoing all these years.

Regarding preparations of the event, Matong stated that they have not encountered any hiccups along the way. He stated that they cannot wait for the big day to arrive. Some of the local acts booked for the event include, Hapex Guru, Earth, Romeo, Le Spooner DJ, Chopsy, Makheno Big Souls, Lyric, Dallas, Jika, Luke, Dragie, Madala, Aos, Pink and Mc Phlyhoney, among others.
