South African Amapiano sensation, Aymos is set to headline the much anticipated Beach Affair music and lifestyle event in Maun over the Easter holidays. The music festival is scheduled for April 19 at Cresta Rileys.

Aymos born Babili Amos Shili who is renowned for his soulful vocals and chart topping collaborations will lead a dynamic line up of artists including Botswana very own, ATI. Other artists are; Tuks Senganga, Mis Williams, DJ Lefatshe, Miss T among others.

As per the event coordinator and marketing person, Peggy Grynberg, the occassion aims to give Batswana an experience to die for looking at the theme. She emphasised that most of Batswana have never been to the beach as the country is landlocked hence the formulation of this event to bring the beach to them.

"This years edition of Beach Affair is all about embracing the vibrancy and freedom of beach culture even in a landlocked region like Maun. The beach wear theme was inspired by the idea of creating an escape, a tropical carefree vibe where attendees can express themselves," she said.

With Maun popular of the Okavango Delta, Grynberg said it was only befitting to bring such kind of an event to Maun as the place offers such kind of vibes.

"Maun being close to the Delta has a unique connection to water and nature so we wanted to channel that energy into a beach inspired experience. The theme also ties into the global trend of beachwear as a symbol of relaxation and fun," Grynberg said.

As the event is held around the Easter holidays, a time known for church gatherings alone, Grynberg acknowledged that the time might pose a challenge to their attendance as some might prefer to go to church.

"Scheduling Beach Affair during the Easter period does present a unique dynamic in a country like Botswana where Easter is for church and family activities so we anticipate that this timing might influence attendance as some may prioritize religious events," she said.

However in light of this, Grynberg indicated that it is not everyone who will go to church as such, they are targeting those ones who do not have plans for church.

"We also see it as an opportunity to offer an alternative for those who are looking for a different way to celebrate the long weekend," she said.

Tickets for the event are going at; standard P150, gate P200, double P200, VIP P600.
