Artists give back to the community

Some artists have put together a show to raise funds for underprivileged children at Motswedi Junior Secondary School in Gaborone. The show, which will be from noon till late, will be held at the school on Saturday.

Obakeng Sengwaketse, a gospel artist, came up with the initiative. The line-up includes Tumza, Spiza, Ashley Gops, Bouncy, Skavenja, Machesa, Crush, Chrome, Ramonyaka, Rachel, Douglas, Ounah, David and Mc Umaga.

Speaking to showbiz about the show, Sengwaketse said he came up with the idea and other artists decided to support the initiative of giving back to the community.

“We identified children at Motswedi JSS and they need our help,” he said. “Everything from the show will be dedicated to them.”

Sengwaketse added that organisers of the show identified a disable child who needed an electronic chair. Organisers have also invited a motivational speaker to cheer up Motswedi students.

He assured music lovers that the artists would present good performances. Sengwaketse and his collaborators would in future look for other ways of meeting the needs of underprivileged students of Motswedi Junior Secondary School.
