FRANCISTOWN:All roads led to the Molapo Leisure Gardens over the weekend for the famous African Attire on Fleek, which featured a number of captivating performances by both local and foreign artists.

The attendants from all corners of Francistown and surrounding areas came dressed to kill to flaunt their local designer’s traditional attires. Moreover, the atmosphere from the town centre spoke loudly about the event as people were spotted in their traditional designer clothes and dancing shoes and prepared to socialise and party to the day's rich line-up. During the day, the music lovers set up their camping chairs, catching up to their family and friends whilst listening to a variety of music styles, from serenading music by local DJ’s. The atmosphere was refreshing and set up a reminder of the wonderful times when City of All Things Precious was so colourful and lively. The hugs, laughter and broad smiles undoubtedly brightened the day and served as a beacon of hope for the dying city.

The local traditional groups, Tjeleje Tje Ngwao, Francistown Ensemble and Bana Bana Ba Ntogwa provided galore of entertainment with their traditional music and dance from Phathisi, Setapa, Ndazola, Hosanna, Hoso to mention but a few. With his vintage mixes, DJ Maftown brought his A game to the deck at night, leaving everyone on their toes, singing and dancing to every song. With his mixes of Naija songs, another local DJ captured the hearts of the public. With her distinctive Djeeying mixes of the old classic tracks, the local queen DJ Missy left no bit of breadcrumbs behind, leaving the attendant yelling for more. One could always write home about her set, which never lets them down. After being treated to quality time with DJ Missy, there was a disturbance and the event had to be halted for a short while because it was reported that two women had fallen into a sewer, which was also dealt with. After the stressful moment, Cue Deck and DJ Chen presented the partygoers to more mixes, which caused them to dance all night long and forget about the incident that nearly soured their mood. With their new song, Taxi, and other performances the local duo Khoisan enthralled the audience and left them begging for more. As usual, Kabelo ‘Skavenja’ Tiro gave a stellar performance.
