After being engulfed in fear and our lives hugely disturbed in unimaginable ways for two years by the COVID-19 pandemic, the year 2022 provided an opportunity for everyone to unwind and loosen up. All eyes were on the local creatives and socialites to create content that would get people talking and entertained. Mmegi Staffer GOITSEMODIMO KAELO takes a look at the year and selects those that made it a memorable one.

For our small population and to some extent being such a conservative society, Botswana has struggled to produce celebrities. If we have them, they do not hog headlines and mass media attention as it should be.

As such, those that made the list are not necessarily because of what they do for a living or their status in the society but mostly on the basis of their social media activity.
