Japan to open embassy in Botswana

"Everybody seems to wear a smile here, you are all happy people," they said. The Japanese envoys said that they intended to open the embassy towards end of this year or by early next year. They explained that they were still engaged in talks with the Botswana government on the issue and were hopeful it would soon be finalised.
Acting Agriculture Minister, Edwin Dikoloti, is right in saying opening an export-ready facility whilst Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is still spreading would risk getting the whole country blacklisted before a single carcass leaves the door.A ban like that would break the already stressed nation.
