Prisoners' Boxing Rehabilitation Project Rolls On

A local boxing promotions company, Scud Missile has embarked on an initiative to help rehabilitate prisoners in the country through participation in sports.

Project coordinator, Thuso 'Scud' Khubamang said he first conceptualised the idea when he was a professional boxer in the United States.

He said when he returned to Botswana, he talked with prisons' officials to implement the idea. He proposed to start by training interested inmates at the Boys' Prison in Gaborone. When he got the green-light, he started by organising open sparring sessions in the prison yard.

The Projects Magazine today launched The Future of Mining Summit, set to become the country’s premier mining conference. The event is scheduled for 12th and 13th of June 2024, at Boipuso Hall, Fairgrounds in Gaborone.
