Will former mayors save F/town?

An interesting development is taking place in Francistown. Two of the city's former mayors are on the brink of representing Botswana's second city in Parliament.

Monarch South councillor Ignatius Moswaane and Satellite South councillor Buti Billy have thrown their names in the hat to be considered for Parliamentary seats.

Moswaane recently won the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary elections as part of preparations for a by-election occasioned by the passing of former Francistown West MP Tshelang Masisi. He will now face off with Dr Habaudi Hubona of the Botswana congress Party (BCP) and Tambula of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).
