Takatokwane stirs to life with modern houses

The village of Takatokwane lies about 70 km west of Letlhakeng, the seat of the sub-district council. At first glance the dusty village looks like it does not have much to offer but surprisingly, it is one of the few villages in Kweneng West that can boast of a junior secondary school, a police station, a primary hospital and a brigade.

Some 20 years ago, the village looked desolate and it was hard to access it but today, Takatokwane is connected to Letlhakeng by a nicely tarred road.

Yes, it is true that most of the yards have unsightly mud huts but there are modern houses mushrooming here and there. This is one village whose residents can praise government for the developments that it has brought to it.
