Nlapkhwane: a village hit by environmental degradation

NLAPKHWANE: Nlapkhwane village has many streams forming tributaries to Tati River.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the banks of the streams were bushy. This provided a good cover for any secretive operations. It was also good for livestock pasturage.

Herd boys frolicked in the sand as the cattle grazed on the lush green grass on the banks of the streams. After the rains, there would be dense greenery that attracted all kinds of bird life and animals.
