Botswana's new High Commissioner to Namibia Tshenolo Modise heads to Windhoek over the weekend to resume work. Mmegi reporter BAME PIET had a brief interview with her a few days before her departure


The year is 1981 and the University of Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland (as UB was then called) is grappling to control a group of unruly rebel students who are demonstrating against the proposed introduction of computers in the civil service, and the entire country. The group, which by one way or the other represents the future of the country, argues that the machines were going to render many Batswana jobless.
