FRANCISTOWN: They arrive in the village with a swagger; guns slung over broad shoulders, their mean looking green Land Rovers snaking their way towards the Kgotla in a sexy manner. You see them, you know the head of state is arriving.

Talking of Kgotla meetings, while addressing one of those year back, former president, Sir Ketumile Masire, is said to have misunderstood a question from a villager in the Bokalanga area who had wanted to know when they were going to have their own kgosi.

The way the villager pronounced the word "kgosi" rhymed with "course", hence in his response the ever-eloquent Sir Ketumile is said to have told the man of the many institutions of learning in Botswana and a plethora of courses he can take to uplift his life.
