It is finally here. The march that the government, the Botswana Police Service especially, tried but failed to stop, is taking place tomorrow, nationwide. Among the determined marchers will be Staff Writer PAMELA DUBE KELEPANG

The movement, going under the now internationally recognised tagline, #IShallNotForget, a social media group which in less than a month  registered over 40,000 members, has finally won the right to hit the streets and declare war against sexual child abuse.  Following a historic court ruling last week Wednesday, forcing the police to issue a permit to the movement, the march has moved beyond the streets of Gaborone, as originally planned.

Activists in Orapa, Francistown, Gantsi, Selebi-Phikwe, Maun and other major villages acquired police permits to march on the same hour. The attempts to block this move have somehow ensured the rise beyond the social media platforms, and Gaborone, to the rest of the country. Ironic, isn’t it?
