All Change

Eventful days, are they not? Hard on the heels of the publication of Speaker Margaret Nashas candid autobiography has come the Cabinet re-shuffle, the transfer of Minister Venson-Moitoi to head a new specialist sub-department in her own Ministry, and there has been the National Assemblys agreement to spend P293 million on buying Orapa House for, as we had been made to understand, new premises for the Office of the President. Everyone and his aunt has already commented on Pelonomi Venson Moitois transfer and made their own judgments about it.

I won’t do so because, much to my regret, I am poorly informed about the issues involved. I do note, however, that her appearance on BTV Wednesday’s evening news did clearly show the awesome strain that heading that particular Ministry can bring.

In that respect, she deserves our understanding.

Mob justice isn't just

A young man suspected of breaking into a car was seized by residents, severely assaulted, and died in the hospital within an hour. We unreservedly condemn this mob justice.
