New Year, New Beginnings

The Monitor team takes this opportunity to welcome our valued readers back from the holidays! The New Year brings with it renewed hope, a chance for one to dust themselves off and start afresh.

All of us have over the years heard about new resolutions, and how some people complain that they never accomplish much in their New Year resolution list. Well, that may be the case, but it shouldn’t take away your dreams, because we all have to set goals, but they have to be realistic.

Most of us become overwhelmed and quit along the way because we set unrealistic goals and come up with a list longer than the A1 road. We all crave growth in our endeavors, no one wants to remain stagnant for the rest of their lives, but for one to develop and grow as an a person, there is need for serious introspection.

It is not uncommon in this part of the world for parents to actually punish their children when they show signs of depression associating it with issues of indiscipline, and as a result, the poor child will be lashed or given some kind of punishment.
