Let Khama Marry, Let Emma Grow Up

Clearly, some sections of the leadership of the Botswana Democratic Party are concerned that President, Ian Khama, has not yet found a 'First Lady' to bring to State house.

Presumably, the BaNgwato, where he is king, will be worried for more than one reason.  Firstly, tradition finds it unbecoming that the leader who represents the best values of a nation should not himself be going by going against the social gradient, failing to find a wife.  Or as in the case of Jacob Zuma of South Africa and King Mswati of Swaziland, falling to find any number of wives, depending on the number of reed dances he survives.

Secondly, it was not very long ago that some among the BaNgwato demanded that their king should sit at Kgotla, Moutlakgola Nwako, one of the generation of Kebatlamang Morake, commenting: "He cannot have his cake and eat it."
