YAB Artprenuers Showcase Skills

The passion of being an artpreneur was reignited at an event organised by Youth Africa Botswana (YAB), which gave female artists an opportunity to showcase their artistic skills.

The six-week programme trains women in the arts and accords them the chance to learn, grow in the creative industry and be able to identify marketable places to tap into.

YAB project manager, Timothy Mweemba said the programme is aimed at changing the perception that artists can make a living out of their passion. “Unfortunately, in the creative industry, artists tend to get absorbed in the beauty of their work and forget that they need to sell and actually make a living out of their passion,” Mweemba explained.
