Botswana’s trade deficit widened from P210 million in July 2016 to P1.01 billion in July 2017 at the back of reduced diamonds exports, official data shows.

A trade deficit implies that imports outweighed exports in the period under review. Imports value for July 2017, compared to that of the same month in 2016 shows an increase of 8.8% from P5.33 billion recorded during July 2016 to P5.79 billion recorded during July this year.
