SELEBI-PHIKWE: The economic future of the Selebi Phikwe Economic Diversification Unit (SPEDU) looks promising if the lined-up projects are anything to go by.

Speaking at a stakeholder consultative conference hosted by the Mmadinare Development Trust (MDT) last week, SPEDU chief executive officer Mokubung Mokubung highlighted that his organisation has a significant number of projects that will soon be implemented in the region that covers Mmadinare, Selebi-Phikwe, Bobonong and Tswapong north areas. He said some of the projects to be implemented in the near future include horticulture development, stating that the area is surrounded with dams making it more suitable for horticulture.

“Some local and international investors in horticulture have shown interest in our project and we are ready to work with them,” said Mokubung.
